IT services
Your University account gives you email, the student or staff intranet, the wireless network, the Library’s online resources and printing.
Your account
New students and staff are sent their username and a link to set a password before they arrive. Your username is your initial, surname and a number, such as jsmith4. Every account uses two-step sign-in, with an app on your phone or a hardware key from the Service Desk.
Passwords
If you forget your password, reset it with the self-service tool on the sign-in page. The Service Desk can reset it for you in person if you bring your University card. IT Services will never ask for your password by email or telephone.
Wireless
The wireless network covers every University building and hall. Connect to OxenfurtWireless and sign in with your University username and password. Visitors can use OxenfurtGuest for 24 hours by registering a mobile number.
Email and calendar
Student email accounts stay open for a year after you finish your course. Staff accounts close on the last day of employment.
Printing and computers
Open-access computers are in the Riverside Library, the Old Library and every department. Printing costs 5p a page in black and white and 20p in colour, paid from your print account.
Software
Office software, statistics packages and reference managers are free to install on your own devices while you are at the University.
The Service Desk
Ground floor, Riverside Library, 08:00 to 18:00 on weekdays · it.help@oxenfurt.uk · 01632 960580. IT service status shows any current problems and planned maintenance.
