Staff are paid monthly, on the last working day of the month, except in December.

Changes to hours, overtime and claims must reach Payroll by the 10th of the month to be included in that month’s pay. Payslips are on the staff intranet (sign-in required).
Pay scales
The University uses a single pay spine of ten grades for all staff. Annual increments are paid on 1 August until the top of the normal range of each grade is reached. The 2026–27 pay award, agreed nationally, was applied from 1 August 2026.
Pensions
Academic and most professional staff are enrolled in a defined-benefit pension scheme for higher education staff. Staff in Grades 1 to 4 may instead join the University’s own scheme, the Oxenfurt Academy Staff Pension Scheme, which is also a defined-benefit scheme. Both have life cover and ill-health benefits.
